Our Story

Mochi was started as a side hustle by our founder, Stephen Quebe, way back in 2018. At the time Stephen was running a successful technology consulting firm, where he and the team designed machine learning software solutions for integration and analysis of unstructured data.  Specifically for asset tracking and optimization. Wow! That was a mouthful.

Stephen loved his work, but started to notice a trend with some of the e-commerce businesses he worked with. Many small to medium-size e-commerce shops wanted to dig deep into their data and wanted to communicate effectively with their customers, but were not able to find the right software tools to do help.

These businesses didn’t have large dedicated analytics teams.  They didn’t have vast customer support teams, but they had a passion for their business and wanted to provide amazing customer support, and from these needs grew Mochi.

At Mochi we are intrigued by the challenges our customers face every day and we are digging deep to build data and customer support tools to help. While there are a lot of communication tools on the market, none of them are specifically designed with the needs of small to medium e-commerce shops in mind.

For example, the majority of online shoppers now use their mobile devices to shop, but most chat widgets are not designed with mobile shopping in mind.

Most communication tools are designed for teams of hundreds of people, we have designed ours for smaller teams where store owners and customer support staff have to sell, support, fulfill, and build a quality brand.

Now, nestled at the foot of Mount Timpanogos, Mochi is on a mission to empower e-commerce businesses to provide world class support and customer engagement. And, we continue to build our solution based on feedback from real shop owners.
